My Christmas Presents - Part Two

The cow creamer was from Emily.  It's a reference to one of our favorite TV shows, Wonderfalls, which met the fate of many of our favorite shows and was cancelled after only a few episodes.

The show is about a girl who graduates from Brown and begins work at a Niagara Falls gift shop, much to the disappointment of her family.  Her lack of ambition seems to be leading her toward permanent gift shop employee status when one day a small toy lion speaks to her cryptically and tells her to help someone in need of help.  Though helping strangers is not exactly in line with her cynical nature, she ends up obeying the voice, if only to make it go away. But somehow she ends up reluctantly being of service to someone and just when she's ready to go back to normal life, another inanimate object speaks to her.  The cow creamer is one of those objects.  I have yet to hear my cow creamer speak to me (or anyone), but look forward to hearing what she has to say. Thanks, Em!

Next is my whale ice cream scoop from Claire. (Hmmm... I just noticed that both gifts are animal-shaped food-server thingies....)  I love this design.  I'm not sure you can really see how cool it is from the photo, but the head is at the left, which is the grippy part.  And the tail is the scooper part.  It's not only fun to look at - it is a darn great scoop.  Thanks, Claire!

(I like this photo because of the neat reflection from the granite.  You can even see my ceiling, chandelier, and deer head - all upside down.  Completely unintentional, but I like it.  Click photo to enlarge.)
