There is almost no traffic on Topanga Canyon this morning. Residents only, the sign says. Super Scoopers fly overhead to pick up water, and then to drop it on Malibu. It's alternately quiet and noisy. I listen to the news from those who've been forced to evacuate and they all seem to say the same thing - "We're all safe and we've got what's important." A reminder to all of us of what's important.
