Rob was the keynote speaker at the "Reel Thing XX" conference on Saturday. The title of his talk was, "Film Grain - Digital Restoration's 'Get out of Jail Free' Card." Sadly, despite numerous efforts on his part to explain, I remain in the dark regarding film grain and restoration. Happily, however, the Hollywood Reporter understands him, and quoted him as he was heard uttering the phrase "shame on you" to the beleaguered film archivists.
