London - Days One and Two

London Day One mostly consisted of conquering jet lag followed by a great dinner of Indian food.  London Day Two started off with Rob going to test the Dalsa cameras to be used on a portion of  the next James Bond movie.  They were filming at a sky-diving simulator outside of London, where he and his employee, Dan, met Olga, the next Bond girl.  They spent half the day thinking that the stunt girl was the next Bond girl, so don't tell Olga she wasn't their first choice.

My day was not nearly as flashy, but it was my kind of fun. First part of the fun was my new Kindle. Rob, Dan, and I were beyond giddy about taking our Kindles on the trip. I have 4 novels (including Suite Francaise, my latest book club book), and daily updates of the New York Times and Wall St. Journal.  It's beyond awesome to be able to read the newspaper by clicking a button and not having to turn giant unwieldy pages.  It has a search function, and a dictionary and  I love it.  Here it is sitting next to my latte at the cafe nearby.  I love it. (Did I say that already?)

I still couldn't wrap my mind around seeing a Krispy Kreme stall inside Harrods yesterday, so I went back to see if I had been imagining it.  Unfortunately, I hadn't.

This is not particularly far from another part of Harrods - where they sell Masaratis.

Since it was sunny I decided to walk through Hyde Park. I love this sign.

On the map of Hyde Park, the Princess Diana Memorial Fountain is marked by a small wrinkled sticker. It seemed rather half-hearted and disrespectful. And it didn't help matters to have the memorial grass covered in goose droppings.

Look under this bench and you can see a little stuffed bunny that somehow got left behind.  He's almost exactly the color of the gravel, so no wonder he might have gone missing.  I wanted to rescue him, but left him in case his owner returned. I will check on him tomorrow, as it's supposed to rain.

So, instead of photos of Olga-the-new-Bond-girl, I'm forced to leave you with a photo of me in the park. Maybe I'll let Rob have the camera tomorrow....

Ok, here's a stock photo of Olga.  (Kind of like going from Krispy Kreme to Masarati...)
